Between, Friday folder, infinite campus, weekly newsletter, PTO activities, it's impossible to not be informed and connected to the school. They are organized, responsive, involved and competent. The teachers, administration and staff have been excellent. He is well versed in the PBIS values and has been an excellent student. Now in K5 has been recognized with 5 BUGs(Behaving Unusually Good). Our son has been a stellar student since K4. Only those students participating in the 2015-2016 and older were allowed to continue in the program. Overall good school, but some school processes could be streamlined. Students do have to wear uniforms, but I found that was better in a way, you don't have to worry about what to wear-there are regular clothes days. Good facilities and technology such as SMART Boards, that teachers make an effort to use. As compared to public schools, the highest level you can be as a freshman in high school is Geometry, because of a lack advance math programs. Good faith education and english as well as social studies, but poor math and okay sciences. Start kids early, because it may be difficult to fit in, if you haven't found your group. Good school but currently faces administrative issues such as principle selection. Mrs Ittner's use of technology in 2nd grade brings family into the class. The 4K full day program truly prepares students to hit the ground running in 5K. There's a good spectrum of diverse socio economic status coming together at Lumen Christi which is refreshing. Mequon's median household income is 100K and house price is 373K. With that said, Thiensville's median income is 53K and median house cost is 230K. Mequon/Thiensville has less than 8% ethnic representation. Lumen Christi is not diverse in terms of culture, nor is the community it is in. Parents choose Lumen Christi not only for academics but for the other things that form our children: community, smaller class size= more attention, and faith-centered curriculum. The Mequon/Thiensville school system is very strong and yet families love what Lumen Christi offers. In many states parents choose parochial education because the public schools are not strong.
